ABEOKUTA - Movement of Yewa/Awori for Governor (MOYAG) has said the suspension of Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State from the All Progressives Congress (APC) will literally spell the extinction of the party from the state.

MOYAG at a press conference held in Abeokuta on Monday at the Iwe-Iroyin press centre noted that, the suspension of Governor Amosun was hinged on his commitment to ensure justice and equity for Yewa/Awori to produce the next governor.

Speaking at the press conference, Convener of the movement, Sola Oyekanmi said the only way through which the people of Ogun State could appreciate Amosun's efforts at developing the state is to vote Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade, the governorship candidate of Allied Peoples Movement (APM).

Oyekanmi further noted that, voting Akinlade will not only ensure continuity of governor Amosun's project, but also ensure justice and fairness.

He emphasized that, Akinlade stands a better chance of winning the election than any other governorship candidate from the zone.

He therefore urged the electorate troop out enmass and vote Hon. Akinlade on Saturday and all APM House of Assembly candidates.

"We, members of the Movement of Yewa-Awori for Governor (MOYAG), hereby call on all indigenes and registered voters in Ogun State to give total support to the governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement (APM) popular known as the cassava party.

"We appeal and implore you all to vote for the APM in the forthcoming governorship election on the 9th of March 2019. The emergence of Hon. Akinlade as governor of Ogun State will entrench justice and fairness into the polity of Ogun State and help change the narrative which had seen the Ogun West Senatorial district being marginalised for over 40 years.

"We have assessed the APM candidate and we have concluded that he is competent and resourceful enough to serve the people of Ogun State as governor. Our research into his antecedents and our various interactions with him revealed to us his passion for service, his brilliance and achievements in public service as Senior Special Assistant to the governor in 2011, where he helped grow the state IGR from the modest level it was to the current average of N7billion per month.

"Therefore, it is only fair to allow Ogun West Senatorial have a chance. We are aware of Gov. Ibikunle Amosun’s commitment to this just cause even at personal cost. His purported suspension by the leadership of APC is a suspension of the APC in Ogun State."
