Labour Party Chairman Charges Supporters To Protect Votes



ABEOKUTA - The chairman of Labour Party in Ogun State, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has called on the party agents and supporters to remain resolute in protecting their mandates in the Saturday's governorship and state house of assembly elections.

Arabambi gave the charge on Wednesday in Abeokuta at the party's final rally for the State Assembly candidate, Iwalaye Wasiu. 

The LP Chairman said he has trust in the credibility of INEC, saying only the electorate and party supporters can guarantee the safety of their mandates.

He said with adequate security provided by the Nigeria Police, he has confidence that the Assembly candidate would emerge victorious if the people vote enmass for him. 

"Let me assure you today, Labour Party is coasting home to victory on Saturday. Don't be discouraged by any primordial sentiments that this coming elections will be rigged, nobody can right your votes if you stand by your votes.

"INEC has put in place machinery to checkmate rigging in this coming elections on Saturday and with the adequate security as promised by the Inspector General of Police, Iwalaye will emerge victorious in Saturday. 

"I want to enjoin you to come out enmass as you have done today to vote for Iwalaye Wasiu and all other Labour Party House of Assembly candidates in the state. When you cast your vote, stay back to witness the counting of the election result in your presence", Arabambi averred. 

In his own submission, Iwalaye Wasiu who is vying for Abeokuta South State Constituency II at the Ogun State House of Assembly commended all party members for their steadfast and show of love. 

'Iwa' as fondly called by political admirers promised to deliver dividends of democracy to every nooks and crannies of the constituency. 

He assured that, if elected, he would legislate a bill for tenancy law that will make living a worthwhile for tenants in his constituency.
