NMPG Gets New Exco, Tasks OGSG On Boundary Closure Over Coronavirus

ABEOKUTA - The new executive of National Movement For Progressive Group (NMPG) has called on Ogun state government to as a matter of necessity close all entry points to the state to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease, Coronavirus. 

NMPG said the move would help in containing the spread of the coronavirus across the state as the carrier would be restricted from moving around.

The National Chairman of the group, Arc. Olufemi Lawal who spoke with journalists in Abeokuta yesterday maintained that, as the federal government closed all borders to foreigners and travellers, it is imperative for the state government to close all entry points to visitors to the state. 

Lawal commended Ogun state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for providing necessary measures and information in curtailing the pandemic. 

He urged the people to abide with the directives of the state government as precaution against the disease.

The new national chairman who emerged through a consensus vote said NMPG as a movement group of All Progressives Congress (APC) would continue to engage the public on the need to maintain self hygiene.

"NMPG has forbidable support group for APC. We believe it in progressive positivity and belief in speaking up for the voiceless, the need to support APC good leadership and governance. 

"There is need to bridge the gap between the masses and government. With our collective effort we will surpass all challenges and supporting the government in dividends of democracy to the grassroots 

"The national working committee hereby encourage every citizens of Ogun state to abide with the measures put in place by the state government to to tackle the spread of coronavirus within until the nation get out of the disease."

Meanwhile, other elected members of the National executives are; Hon. Segun Sowunmi ( Ogun State coordinate), Hon. Allen Yinka, Dr. Abolaji Odumosi, Miss Abimbola Ibrahim, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Sowunmi, Engr. Owoo Kehinde, and Hon. Abiodun Oluwatosin.
