ABEOKUTA - The Inkline, one of the leading social platforms in Ogun state through financial contributions from its members, distributed food items to over 100 aged people and the vulnerable ones within Ilaro, on Saturday.
The programme which commenced with a visit to the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Arc. Olusegun Aluko saw the leader of the team, Mrs Akintomide expressing the platform's appreciation to the Rector for a job well done.
However, members of the public and most especially, the people of Ilaro have commended the front line social media news platform, for its charitable gesture towards the needy.
Performing the official decoration of Dr. Aluko with the official féz cap of the loop, Mr Adeyinka of National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) extolled the virtues of the rector, describing him as "a great man of many honours".
In his remarks, Dr. Aluko said, "I thought The Inkline is only about writing, but now that I know that it equally involves philanthropic gestures, I would continue to give my support."

Speaking earlier, the founder of The Inkline, Comrade Seun Abati, thanked the Rector for his fatherly support to the loop and most especially, towards the provision of the relief items.
He stated further that, The Inkline comprises of various professionals across all works of life and top public servants who see to the running of the loop from time to time.
He however used the opportunity to seek for the support if the Rector towards the loop's news blog first public lecture slated for the later part of the year.
At the office of the DPO, Ilaro, Mrs Akintomide thank CSP Olayemi for a job well done and most importantly at this crucial time when hoodlums are creating fears across the state.
Responding, CSP Olayemi expressed his gratitude to the team and for the opportunity given to him to be part if The Inkline. He promised to continue giving his best and to ensure total peace in Ilaro township.
The DPO magnanimously released a patrol team to lead members of the group as they go about disturbing the relief items.
Other groups that benefitted were members of the Blind association and people with physical challenge who were full of praises for the team.
Some of the areas visited include; Ona-nla, Ona Otun, Akinniku, Ona-osi, Ago Isaga and others.
