ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ogun State Chapter, Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin otherwise known as Iyeru has warned members of the union not to violate government rules guiding the lockdown.
Iyeru said any member arrested for violating the stay-at-home order by the state government would be left on his own.
The union Chairman stated this on Friday at his Abeokuta residence while giving out cow meat to his community members and members of the union.
He said the purpose of distributing the meat was to assist the state government in reaching out to vulnerable members of the public and to prevent hunger during the lockdown.
Iyeru further noted that, the donation was his own little contribution at puting smiles on the faces of the people at such a critical time in the nation, saying "it gladdens my heart to reach out to the people at this time.
"As we all know that goverment at the federal and state has annouce the lock down as to be able to indentify those people with corona virus, as private individual and union leader in the state, I need to assist me people, that is what I'm doing.
