Stay-At-Home Order: Ogun Speaker Preaches Love, Selfless Service

ABEOKUTA - Following the sit-at-home order by the federal government, the Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Taiwo Oluomo has urged residents of the state to show love to one another during the lockdown.

The Speaker explained that the hardship envisaged during the  lockdown of the state from Friday, is a sacrifice towards curtailing the spread of the pandemic coronavirus in the state. 

He gave this admonitions while fielding questions from journalists in Abeokuta. 

"Although government had embarked on distribution of palliatives through some relief materials across the state, but love and care for our neighbors during this period would further bring succor to everyone". He noted

Hon. Oluomo called on well-meaning individuals to support the less priviledged, so that government's relief materials can get to the down trodden in the society.  

According to him, "overnment's relief materials are meant for those who don't have any means of catering for themselves during this period, hence, those who have more should also support government's efforts". 

He pointed out that government's relief materials was for the vulnerable, aged, widows and the extremely poor people in the society. 

The Speaker therefore enjoined all residents to be law abiding by remaining indoors throughout the lockdown.
