Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji
ABEOKUTA - The driver of the Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.

An impeccable source in the ministry told THE ENCOUNTER NEWS that, the driver whose name was unknown, was reported to have shown symptoms to the deadly global disease last weekend and had been taken to one of the isolation centres in the state.

It was gathered that the commissioner had ordered the immediate closure of the office and asked the staff in the ministry to go on 14-day isolation.

A source said the commissioner directed that the driver be taken to an isolation centre.

“The commissioner also ordered that members of her press crew and others at her ante -room should go on a 14- day self -isolation ,” the source added.

When contacted, the state health commissioner did not answer the calls put across to her and had yet to reply the text message sent to her mobile as at the time of filing this report.

The text message reads; "Good morning ma'am, I want you to confirm or debunk a report that your driver tested positive to Covid-19 and you have also directed all health ministry officials to go on self-isolation. How true is this Honourable Commissioner ma?".
