ABEOKUTA - All Progressives Congress, Youth League in Ogun state has called on government at all levels to further engage youths in development of the nation.
The State Coordinator, APCYL who is also the Special Assistant to Ogun state governor on Youths and Sports, Comrade Olamide Lawal gave the charge in Abeokuta on Wednesday in a press statement to commemorate this year's International Youth Day.
Lawal explained that this year's theme "Youth Engagement for global action" was a pointer to the desire of government to engage Youths in the development of the nation.
He urged youths in the state to develop their inherent potentials and tailor their energy towards productive engagements.
"This year's celebration is coming at a period of global Pandemic and economic instability whereby it takes only the fittest to survive.
He furthered "This time requires ingenuity and exhibition of potentials for youths to make themselves relevant in the scheme of things."
The Coordinator advocated for an engagement of youths in government decision-making processes thereby reducing restiveness and unemployment among the youth population, which carries the highest percentage of people on the land.
While wishing the youths a blissful celebration, Lawal prayed for a prosperous and brighter future.
