ABEOKUTA - Residents of Lufuwape community in Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state have accused security personnel of aiding suspected land grabbers to torment them over their landed properties.
The residents on Sunday raised alarm over invasion of their land by suspected land speculators who they alleged have subjected residents to horrible experiences.
Speaking with newsmen in the community, the Vice Chairman of the Community Development Association, Mr. Mike Opia said the land speculators led by one Moruta Afolabi have been harassing terrorising the community with bandits to forcefully claim ownership of their properties.
Opia who appealed to the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to rescue them from the lawless act, said despite several reports to the Ogun State Police Command, no feedback on the petition till date.
He noted that sizeable numbers of buildings under construction were forcefully pull down at gun point.
Opia recalled that in one of the attack launched by the bandits, he was hit by bullets from the land speculators, adding that number of residents were also victims of the violence attack, adding that residents cannot sleep with their two eyes closed anymore.

"We started experiencing this bad taste from the landgrabbers since 2010 till date, these guys are aided by some security personnel, many of them established to be coming from neighbouring Lagos State. We have written to police command, but no feedback till today", Opia said
The Community Development Association alleged the gang leader who he called Moruta Afolabi has been evading arrest, and still walking freely on the street, having being established to be responsible for the shooting of residents.
"We are using this medium to passionately appeal to our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the government of the state to come to our aid, before the bandits ruin our community. We have been suffering in silence since 2010, and we cannot bear the humiliation and threat any longer", he emphasized.
Opia accompanied by other elders of the community said one of the residents identified as Adebayo Omorenu was during one of the attacks, kidnapped by the landgrabbers with the aid of some suspected cultists.
