Ogun NUJ Raises Alarm Over Activities Of Fake Online, Community Newspaper Journalists Using Union's Name

ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has warned members of the public to beware of some fake journalists parading themselves as executives of Federated chapel of Ogun NUJ council.

Federated Chapel is composition of both online and community newspaper publishers and editors in Ogun state council of NUJ.

This was contained in a release signed by the chairperson of the Caretaker Committee of NUJ Ogun state council, Mrs Omolola Adeyinka Thursday in Abeokuta.

Mrs. Adeyinka said the fake executives have been moving round the state visiting personalities, organizations and government agencies with dubious motives.

She said, "it has come to our notice that a group of people parading themselves are not the authentic executive members of Federated Chapel of Ogun NUJ.

"Against this backdrop we urged you to disregard any other person or group of people outside the following names; Alhaji AbuSatar Idowu Hamed – Chairman, Juwon Opayemi – Vice Chairman, Adekunle Bolaji – Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji – Assistant Secretary, Akinola Akindele – Treasure, Jaji Olamilekan – Auditor."

Mrs Adeyinka noted that there was no legal or political issues preventing the authentic exco to function on behalf of the union.

She added that anybody or group of people parading themselves as Executives of Federated Chapel aside above mentioned should be disregarded or asked to present letter of identification from Ogun State NUJ Council.
