ABEOKUTA - The Elder in Charge, Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Favour of the Lord House of Prayer, Arepo, Ijoko-Ota, Ogun state, Apostle Kayode Agbeyangi has condemned the recently signed Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) by the federal government to take over the affairs of churches across the nation.
Apostle Agbeyangi called on other Christian leaders in the country to rise up and kick against the law and ensure that it does not see the light of the day.
The cleric made the call on Sunday at the 10th anniversary and N100million fund raising of the church.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari recently signed into law the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAMA 2020.
There have been agitations against the law from religious groups particularly from the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN and many others.
The former NURTW scribe in Ogun state noted that no law can erode the existence of Christianity, describing the CAMA law as draconian and mirage.
He said "it is a mirage. Something that cannot even stand at all. No government of the world can take over the work of God. Not even President or other senator or whoever. No Matter what, a law has been created before the law that we use in governance.
"They trace the laws that govern the world that is the Bible and the Al-Quran, that is where they all draw all draw their draconian or the laws that are just peaceful to the existence of human race. So, there is no law that can erode the existence of the christiandom or any worship centre.
"Our spiritual leaders should also trend it softly because we seek righteousness not affluence. Display of affluence from our church leaders could cause a lot of things, this is why probably the government is eyeing what they are doing. But in those days, those who govern the society/community are the kings that are appointed by the Almighty God and God gives them the laws that guides them. So they should work in the consonance with the dictate of the Bible and Quran."

Apostle Agbeyangi therefore urged Nigerian leaders to seek the face of God, saying lack of God's understanding responsible for bad governance and anti-masses policies.
Speaking on the theme of the event, “who is like unto Thee, O Lord, Among Other gods”, Senior Apostle Simeon Akanbi Akinyemi admonished everyone to hold on to God.
Illustrating Daniel deliverance from the lion’s den as an example, Senior Apostle Akinyemi urged Christians to seek God's protection in every situation, saying no human can save anyone in times of tribulations especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“You should all continue to rely on the saving power of Almighty God, as He is the Creator of heavens and the earth. No man can save you in difficult times. Only God is supreme. Stop running to human being to seek for power because it will vanished and expired. Only God protection is everlasting."
Meanwhile, notable NURTW leaders from the South West states graced the fundraising ceremony of the church.
Among notable dignitaries at the event are; Ogun state NURTW chairman, Alhaji Ismail Adewale (Yaro) and representatives of Lagos State NURTW Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya (MC Oluomo).
