Ogun SWAN/Oba Akamo Table Tennis Tourney Enters Semi Finals

ABEOKUTA - The maiden edition of Ogun SWAN/Oba Akamo Table Tennis Tourney has entered semi-finals.

The game which serve off at the NUJ press centre, Iwe-Irohin House, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta saw the SWAN Chairman, Hakeem Akintunde of OGTV defeating the SWAN Secretary who represented Federated Chapel in a two straight set with 11-8, 11-5 point to qualify for the Semi Final. 

Hakeem Adegbenro of Federation Chapel eased past Bayo Adegboyega of OGBC to square up with Rafiu Alarape of Consolidated Chapel who beats Lekan Agbonde of NTA in the quarter final. 

Abiodun Jimoh of Daily Dispatch newspaper has easy draw against Jonathan Adekunle of Radio Nigeria to set up a semi final match with Hakeem Akintunde of OGTV. 

According to a press release signed by the SWAN Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, the semi-final and Final matches of the tournament will be played on Tuesday at NUJ Press Centre, Iwe-Irohin House, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta beginning from 3pm. 

The tournament's sponsor who is the Olu-Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo will lead other dignitaries to the closing ceremony on Tuesday.

The release also said, all the four semi finalists would be branded with the tournament commemorative T-shirts while the champion will go home with the trophy and cash prize. 

The first and second runner up will also cart away with cash prize.
