Community Petitions IGP Over Alleged Molestation, Selling Of Landed Property By AIG's Zonal Monitoring Unit

 


LAGOS - The Keyoolu Family of Oke Ota Ona of Ikorodu, Lagos state have accused the duo of Sergeant Kolapo Akaje and Supol Samuel Fasiji attached to Zonal Monitoring Unit, Ikorodu for allegedly molesting the community and planting ammunition in residents houses to implicate them.


The community through their elders called on the Inspector General of Police, the Chairman Police Service Commission and the Assistant General of Police, Ahmad Iliyasu in charge of Zone II Command, Onikan to checkmate the two police officers before the situation becomes more worsen.


Some of the community leaders, Chief Seni Atoloye, Sharafa Dada and Rotimi Dada while addressing journalists at the weekend said they cannot sleep with their eyes closed anymore as a result of constant habitual harraasment by the two policemen attached to the Zonal Monitoring Unit (ZMU) of the command.


The community leaders equally accused one Deputy Commissioner of Police (DFA) Adegoke Fayoade for acting the script of one Lawyer Debo Adeleke, whom the family have denounced, went to X squad Alagbon to release and armtwist investigators who were on the run and whom the court had arraigned in absentia.


According to one of the leaders, Atoloye, "we are using this medium to call the attention of the Police authorities about two of their officers identified as Sergeant Kolapo Akaje and Supol Samuel Fasiji they are both attached to ZMU Zonal office at Ikorodu.


"I don't know why police should be constantly selling and taking side in matter that we had already won in court. 


"The aforementioned policemen with some land grabbers arrested two of our families and planted guns in their house tortured and detained them in their cold cell at Ladegboye, Ikorodu, without food and water for a week.


"The policemen also forcibly sell our land and drive the best cars in Lagos.


"The two policemen also threatened to kill us if we dare them.


"Our problem started with them,  when we won a ruling over the Federal Government over our family land at Oke Ota Ona popularly known as Nitel area.


"To our surprise, some land grabbers and the two policemen acting the script of one Police Consultant,  Debo Adeleke, stormed our land and started shooting sporadically and harassing innocent residents of the community to vacate the area that our family members are not the rightful owners of the property."

Atoloye added, Sergeant Akaje and co are fond of grabbing the indigenous people's land of Oke Ota Ona Ikorodu forcibly, the policemen were alleged to have also built about three houses from the proceeds they make from our land they are selling illegally. 


"Sergeant Akaje has become a bad image to the Nigeria Police Force and the Zone II, Command over his radical attitude and the hoodlums whom they are using during operations are Wakeel Salako, White, Lefty, Gbenga Oshin, Samson Oshikoya, One Mission, Raufu Suraju, Eji, Wale, Wasiu Akinyemi, Akeem Shuaibu, Harmony, Adelenu, One Sure, Azeez Akintoye, the hoodlums were alleged to be boasting that nobody can touch them.


"There is a court ruling directing the CP Lagos State and Area N to clear the area of illegal trespassers and hoodlums.


"We are appealing to the High Police Authorities,The Police Service Commission,the Police and Army Provost and AIG to call their men to order and stop these desperate Policemen who have been planting guns on their lands and houses, because they are not criminals, the Army led by one Lt.Col Eze and the Op Mesa and the policemen from Zone 2 DFA and Sergeant Kolapo and his cohorts should stop coming to harrass our people and leave our land and go after the robbers they were ordered to go after, we are law abiding citizen we don't want to take laws into our hands, that is the reason we are crying out."


When contacted, the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO) DSP Hauwa Idris promised to get back to our correspondent, but she's yet to reply to the story as at the time of filling in the story.
