ABEOKUTA - The President, Egba Economic Summit, Mr. Kehinde Sogunle has assured that the group is committed to seeing to the development of Egbaland through partnership with the state government.
Hon. Sogunle who stated this, on Saturday during the 7th Annual General Meeting and induction of members in Abeokuta, revealed that as sons and daughters of Egbaland, it is their core mandate to promote quality and depth engagement with the stakeholders, private sectors and the communities.
He added that the council will continue to be a proactive advocacy in providing information, opinion and advice on pertinent local and international economic issues, particularly those that have a bearing on the economic well being of the people.
The President emphasized that, the group's engagement are being made towards active community and stakeholders engagements on the prosperity future cities projects of Abeokuta and the World Bank's State Economic Transformation Project.
He added that, the project would have a great significant impact on the economic development of Egbaland, stressing that the projects are sustained commitment and dogged efforts of the organization towards the mission of engendering the transformation of Egbaland into a model city by 2030, and also influence policies that will encourage the sustainability economic development in the land.
Sogunle therefore congratulated the newly inducted members, stating that they are privileged to be identified with the organization, calling on them to be selfless in the discharge of their duties.
Also speaking, the Chairman, Board of Directors of the summit, Prince Abiodun Karunwi noted that the organization was created to bring together sons and daughters of the Egbaland with the aim of participating and promoting the development of Egba nation.
Prince Karunwi therefore, charged the newly inductees to be agents of change who will promote the organization and the Egbaland through their various endeavours, possessing the core values of the organization which a member can be identified with.
The new inductees are; Mrs. Bunmi Lawson, Lateef Olatunji Surakatu, Adewusi Johnson Morounmubo, Engr. Jide Ayo Vaughan, Dr. Oke Yemi, Suraju Oladapo Ayoola, Abiola Olayinka Sogaolu and Saheed Ayoola Ahmed.
Speaking with newsmen, Dr. Oke Yemi one of the awardees said that, Egbaland has always been known with greatness, adding that the organization will continue to be identified with policies that will be beneficial to Egbaland and its people.
