Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji

ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, Splash Estate Limited, Mr. Victor Eniola Mark has  disclosed plans by the real estate firm to make no fewer than two million people become house owners in five years through its affordable housing initiative.

Eniola-Mark said the real estate firm is resolved to help Nigerians solve problems of shelter.

He disclosed this on Tuesday in Abeokuta at the official commissioning of Ogun SWAN Estate by the former Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole at Kobape.

Eniola-Mark explained that the company embarked on a research and discovered that fear of fraud and limited resources has been the major debacle that have halted the dreams of many from owning a house .

He however said Splash Estate has introduced an instalmental payment plan for low earners with a view to assuage their burden even as owning a home remains their top priority despite their low income.

The Splash Estate chairman noted, "Solving human problems they say brings wealth but for us at Splash Estate Limited, owners of Omoluabi Estate , solving the problems of shelter for Nigerians brings fulfillment onto our path as a real estate firm.

"In Nigeria , our preliminary investigation as a real estate firm shows that every human desires to own a land with the major motive of building a comfortable house to live in.

Further investigations, however, reveals that FEAR has halted this dream of many as they are yet to buy a land not to talk more of building their own dream homes.

"For many it is the fear of running into wrong hands and getting defrauded by some enemies of our country.

"Some others do not know how to get the required amount to buy a land and as well build a dream home.

"All these were identified by the research section of our company, hence, our resolve to assist people in building their dream homes.

"First, we introduced the instalmental payment plan for low earners with a view to lessening their burden even as owning a home remains their top priority despite their low income."

Speaking on the partnership with SWAN, Eniola-Mark said the success stories from individuals after simplifying how to own a house made the real estate firm decided to expand its scope to professional organisations.

He noted that 40 subscribers will be benefiting from the first phase of the SWAN estate opportunity.

"this success shows our commitment toward the aggressive drive of achieving our dream of turning two million Nigerians into home owners by the end of 2025.

"To this end, we are assuring groups and associations who are willing to own estates (within our areas of reach) of our utmost support and willingness in ensuring their success stories are planed and turned into realities."

Similarly, in his welcome address, the SWAN Chairman,  Alhaji Hakeem Akintunde said the establishment of the SWAN Estate was to care for the welfare of his members in the state.

The SWAN Chairman urged all members of the association and other journalists in the state to avail themselves the opportunity.

While speaking, the Olu of Kobape, High Royal Highness, Oba Olufemi Taylor said the estate would open up development to the community.

Oba Taylor therefore assured SWAN of peaceful coexistence with the villagers.

Meanwhile, the former Speaker, House of Representatives,  Rt. Hon. Dimeji Bankole has charged sports writers in the country to prepare for their retirement by investing into something meaningful to secure their future.

The former speaker who commended the initiative of the SWAN Executive in the state for providing affordable land for their members, enjoined sports journalists to save for their future.

"This is a lofty idea. I want to commend the SWAN executive for facilitating this enduring legacy project.

"Nobody believes journalists especially sports writers can plan for this kind monumental  project. That is why I want to charge others journalists who have not gotten their land to do so now.

" You need to invest in yourselves and your future now, because if you don't, nobody will do that for you. Invest now when you still have the energy to run around."

Other dignitaries who spoke at the ground breaking event are the Olu of Kobape, Oba Olufemi Alani Taylor, former SWAN National Secretary, Wale Alabi, former NUJ Zonal Secretary, Zone D, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, CEO Splash Estate, Victor Eniola Mark among others.
