ABEOKUTA - The youths wing of All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abeokuta North local government of Ogun state on Monday embarked on training of unemployed youths in the council area of skills acquisition programmes.
The training programme according to the youths leader of the local government, Mr. Solomon Oladipupo Akibo would be done for one week on various vocations.
Akibo explained the objective of the training programme was to reduce unemployment in the state in line with 'ajumose' mantra of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state.
The vocational training was part of activities heralding the Youth Week of the party in the local government billed to hold on February 1, 2021.
The youths leader said, the trainees would be engaged on Barbing, Cosmetics, Make up, manicure and pedicure, fashion designing, computer training.
Speaking with the Barbing instructor, Hammed Tajudeen said about 20 apprentices who registered for Barbing are learning fast with the little time spent.
Mr. Tajudeen said the apprentices were taught on the techniques of handling clipper and on the etiquette to attend to customers.
One of the apprentices, Kehinde Lateef appreciated the party youths leader for the initiative.
Kehinde, a secondary school graduate said the vocation would help him to learn new things.
