NUJ Carpets Former Lagos Federal Lawmaker, Salvador For Promoting Fake Journalists, Fake News

ABEOKUTA - Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has frowned at the involvement of the former member of House of Representatives (representing Lagos State), Hon Moshood Adegoke (Salvador) with fake Journalists in Ogun State.

Adegoke was duly informed through close associates that the Union wouldn't have bothered to take any actions had the fake Journalists planned to host the event under a different umbrella and not a very reputable professional body like NUJ.

Regardless of all entreaties, it was reported that Hon Moshood Adegoke insisted on honoring the invitation.

When our reporter contacted the ex-lawmaker, he arrogantly said he would attend and nobody can stop him.

The move which prompted journalists to categorise him as promoter of impostors and fake news peddlers.

It would be recalled that in the disclaimer earlier published by some online media, it was clearly stated that the purported coordinator and the chairman on the invitation, Sina Oduntan and Lanre Adegboyega respectively are not recognized members of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ogun State, Zone, and the National Secretariat.

The State Council of the Union expressed disappointed on the media managers of the former lawmakers for not doing a proper research on the Calibre of people that invite their master to an event.

The Council urged the lawmaker to reach out to the national leadership of the Union to confirm if the organisers of the purported event are members of NUJ.
