ABEOKUTA - Poised to restore sanity to Ijebu-Ode and its environs, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun has vowed to deal in a decisive manner with suspected cultists.
CP Ajogun who gave the warning on Tuesday at a stakeholders meeting with community leaders, youths group and security agencies at the Ijebu-Ode Police Area Command, Igbeba.
The police boss said the command is battle ready to engage anyone found with weapon in a crossfire and arrest such culprit to face the wrath of the law.
He charged the police operatives to be at alert to checkmate the disturbing activities of the hoodlums.
He therefore commended the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for supporting the police command with logistics in fighting the menace of cultists.
"I therefore want to sound a note of warning to all leaders, rank and file members, counsellors and procurers of cultists, others who are nursing the ambition of joining them, that the command is all-out for you all.
"It would be fire-for-fire, and whoever is arrested, will be made to face appropriate charges, including attempted murder, murder, armed robbery, and kidnapping.
"This warning is for all the youths, parents in Ijebu-Ode and its environs, in particular, and to the general public at large. I therefore want to appeal that all hands must be on deck to checkmate the disturbing activities of these hoodlums, which is portraying Ijebu-Ode and its environs in bad lights."
