Ogun Police Nabs Three Fulani Herdsmen Who Attacked Woman In Oru-Ijebu

The victim, Alhaja Morenikeji Amusan 

ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Police Command on Wednesday paraded three Fulani herdsmen suspected to have brutalised and attempted to kill one Alhaja Morenikeji Amusan penultimate week. 


Alhaja Amusan was on January 11, 2021 attacked by some herdsmen while going to her farmland at Ago-Iwoye road.


The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Edward Awolowo Ajogun while parading the suspects at the police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta said the woman was attacked in her Nissan Almeria car with registration number KJA 77 EQ. 


Ajogun further explained that, some herdsmen who were grazing their cattle along the road fired gunshot at the woman and injured her severely on her shoulder, chest and face. 


He added that, the herdsmen having perpetrated their evil act, abandoned their cattle and ran away.


The police boss said, upon the information, the DPO Awa-Ijebu Police divisional headquarters, quickly moved to the scene and mounted surveillance in the area. 


Ajogun said at about 10:00pm, three of the herdsmen came back to the crime scene to evacuate the cattle and were promptly arrested. 


The suspects, according to the Police Commissioner are; Abubakar Buba, Ahamadu Saliyu, and Saidu Alhaji Idris.


Meanwhile, another 56 suspects were paraded alongside the herdsmen for various degrees of crimes. 


The Commissioner therefore reiterated the command's determination to eliminate all forms crime and criminality from the state. 


He said the state police command would ensure that no part of the state is conducive for criminals and have no where to hibernate.
