LAGOS - A Lagos based and international Business man/Estate Developer, Alhaji Ibrahim Shonoiki Shosanya called on President Muhammadu Buhari to confirm the acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba as substantive Inspector-General of Police.
Alhaji Shonoiki who applauded the appointment of Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP, said the appointment came at a time Nigeria is facing security challenges.
President Muhammadu Buhari had last week approved the appointment of the Deputy Inspector-General, DIG, Usman Alkali Baba as the Acting Inspector-General of Police.
Shonoiki described the new Acting IGP as a very principled and highly respected police chief and astute administrator.
According to Alhaji Shonoiki, the appointment of Baba came at the right time when the country is in dire need of an experienced police officer to tackle insecurity in the
country.
He described the new IGP as a honest and hardworking officer that can be trusted with the country’s security at anytime of the day.
According to him, the new acting IGP is a giant among his peers, not only in terms of intellect, vision and prestige, but also in terms of sterling qualities of leadership.
“IG Usman Baba is a man of honesty, transparency and justice. He has zero tolerance to corrupt practices and he is known an advocate of peace, law and order
“He is interested in peaceful co-existence among people even of different religions and ethnicity”, he added.
Alhaji Shonoiki said he was not surprised when Usman Alkali Baba was appointed as Acting IGP adding that he is the best crime bursting Police Chief in Nigeria.
He urged Nigerians to support the new IGP to take the country off the present security challenges.
According to Alhaji Shonoiki, the appointment of Baba should be seen by Nigerians as a welcome development in attempt to free Nigeria from the insecurity it is known with for some times.
He said “The acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has worked in different capacities in Kaduna State. There is no doubt that his legacies shall remain eternal source of inspiration for many generations to come as he reached the exalted position of assistant inspector general of police in the service to his country and humanity.
