ABEOKUTA - President of Ogun Baptist Conference, Reverend Doctor Oyewale Oyeniyi has asked Nigerians, especially the Christian faithful to take the period of this year Easter Celebration to seek the face of God over challenges facing the country.
The Easter Celebration, according to him, is meant for sober reflection because it marks the moment of God’s intervention into crisis facing mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Oyeniyi, in his Easter message, asks Nigerians to use their celebration to get closer to God, who allowed His only begotten Son to redeem the world through the death on the cross of calvary as atonement for sins and to secure eternal life for mankind.
The Cleric says such supreme sacrifice of Jesus must reflects in the mode of their celebration as he wishes them joyous Easter Celebration.
Oyeniyi asks Nigerians to ensure they live in peace and harmony with one another regardless of their tribe, religion or political affiliations.
He, however, calls on government at all levels to quickly address the challenges facing the country, especially mindless killings, raping, kidnapping among others criminal activities
