ABEOKUTA - Members of the All Nigeria Autobike Commercial Owners and Workers Association (ANACOWA) on Thursday collapsed their structures and joined Road Owners Motorcycle Association (ROMO) in Ogun state.
The ANACOWA executives led by Prince Nurudeen Shogbeingbo also denied involvement in a court case against the Ogun State Government over establishment of a transport union in the state.
Shogbeingbo who led hundreds of his supporters to Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital observed a solidarity rally in support of the ROMO Chairman, Alh Sotayo Rasaq popularly called Sholebo.
The rally which was held in Moshood Abiola stadium, Abeokuta was to celebrate ANACOWA becoming part of ROMO in the state.
Speaking at the rally, Shogbeingbo who is now the chairman of ROMO in Ogun central said the defunct ANACOWA is in total support of the Solebo-led executive.
He however said the defunct group did not know anything about a legal case against the Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
Shogbeingbo who noted that ANACOWA is now part of ROMO, stressed that anyone parading himself as ANACOWA executive is fake.
He added, "we are now part and parcel of ROMO, there is nothing like ANACOWA again. We have joined and metamorphosed to ROMO.
" We know nothing about case against the state government. Anybody parading himself as a member of ANACOWA is fake because we are now ROMO.
"ANACOWA is with RoMo. We will not allow another group to spoil the reputation of ANACOWA. He was appointed, but he refused.
" We are one and the public should disregard any claim by any person that he is representing our interest. That is fake and untrue."
