ABEOKUTA - Following THE ENCOUNTER NEWS report about lack of water supply in Abeokuta South local government Primary Health Centre, the Transition committee Chairman of the council area, Hon. Ayodeji Shomide has repaired the hospital's faulty Generator for adequate water supply in the health centre.
The Encounter News had earlier reports that, the hospital management directed expectant mothers registered with the hospital to come with two gallons of water as part of their delivery kit for child labour.
This, according to the hospital management was as a result of the hospital's generator which developed fault some days ago.

He said, "as a responsive and responsible government in line with Governor Dapo Abiodun's mantra of "building our future together" we have swiftly responded to the demand of the hospital and I can assure you that, water is now running in our health facility.
"The situation is just an isolated case, this is not a usual occurrence, so, we want to appeal to members of the public to have confidence in the hospital services and medical personnel on duty."
In his own reaction, the medical staff Health for Abeokuta South local government, Dr. Adekunle Solarin maintained that, there is functional borehole in the hospital with standby generator to power it whenever there is electricity outage.
Dr. Solarin noted that, the incident that happened on Tuesday was unusual, urging patients and expectant mothers to come to the hospital with their delivery pack without load of water.
"Even before now, it is a challenge we actually overcome. We have a very good functional borehole and when there's no electricity, we use our generator to power it. However, the generator develop fault some days ago, and on the interim, we have been bringing generator from our other facilities to intermittently pump water for the use of our patients.
"On this said day, maybe there was no water as it was reported, but it's an isolated event, it is not something that usually occur here. But as we speak now, the issue has been resolved and the generator has been fixed and water will soon get to every part of our facilities.
"Our mothers should come with their delivery pack. They need not to come with water, generator or petrol, we have adequately provided that."
