ABEOKUTA - A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State and former State Coordinator of APC Presidential Campaign Council Field Operation in the last general election, Com. Nuberu Adesanya Olufemi has disclosed that he is contesting for the APC chairmanship in the state to reposition the party and foster unity among party members.
The Nuberu who hails from Ago Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government Area, Ogun East Senatorial district of the State, said he is vying for the party's chairmanship position to take Ogun APC to greater heights and help foster more unity among members to ensure successes in future elections.
The party's state congress will hold on October 16, this year.
Nuberu who spoke with journalists on Tuesday said his aspiration was about the interest of the party and providing solid ground for future elections, adding that he has the requisite knowledge and experience to lead Ogun APC on the right path.
"I had always been a change agent right from my primary school and I do not regret to be one. During my University education which by coincidence was the period of utter military repression and subjugation of the political right of the citizenry, I am happy to recount the very historical roles we played in the restoration of democratic and civil rule.
“This issue now is about the interest of our party in Ogun State and providing solid ground for success in future elections.
“I'm a committed and loyal party man. I have the knowledge, energy, and strength to be the bridge builder and unite members to address any challenges.
”I have what it takes to lead and mobilize the needed forces across the length and breadth of Ogun State to forge greater unity within our party, make it more formidable, and galvanize it for more successes," Nuberu said.
