Amalgamated Atiku Support Group has congratulated former Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan, as he clocks 64 years.
The group in a congratulatory message signed by the acting National Director, Media, and Publicity, Olusegun Olukoga on Saturday; described former President Jonathan as an exemplar, icon of Peace, a true democrat and elder statesman whose role to bring peace to African countries and beyond is still being felt.
The statement noted that, the Peoples Democratic Party was proud to produce the former president; during the period, he placed the nation on a more united front, aftermath of conceding to his successor, President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to the statement, Jonathan's giant strides in politics and governance, while in power stood him out among his contemporaries in the country, and the world over; he has continued to attract national, continental, and international assignments on peacekeeping and mission.
"Your leadership activities out of office continue to promote a legacy of focus, discipline, and consistency as you have occupied several post Presidency assignments, and until recently as, Chairman of the International Summit Council for Peace Africa; an association of incumbent and former heads of state and their deputies, established in 2019 by the Universal Peace Federation, an organization in general consultative status with the United Nations."
The group on behalf of Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar prayed that God grants the former President long life amid good health; noting that, with the grace of God, he will be available to continue to lay a solid foundation for the propagation and continuity of good governance in Nigeria and Africa continent.
"At 64, it is our prayer that God Almighty will grant you more grace of many more years in the service of humanity and our fatherland in excellent health, limitless resourcefulness, and with renewed vigor to better all your previous records combined.
"Congratulations and Many Happy Returns to Nigeria's icon of Peace and Elder Statesman", the statement stated.
