ABEOKUTA - The Lead Pastor at the Victory Life Bible Church (VLBC), Abeokuta, Apostle Lawrence Achudume has said the time has come for Nigerians to take their destinies into their hands and not submit themselves to any gimmick from politicians who are only after what they can get from occupying a particular elective position.
He said Nigerians, especially the voting populace should vote for people with proven integrity and track record during elections.
Apostle Lawrence Achudume gave the advice in a sermon entitled 'The God factor in any man's life' on Sunday at the Rehoboth City, Asaba Delta State.
Achudume said this became imperative because electing people based on merit forms the foundation for good governance.
Apostle Achudume who noted that money politics has been allowed to sink into the anals of the system, called on Nigerians to wake up and follow their conscience, and not vote based on ethnic or religious sentiments.
Appreciating the presence of the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyin Okowa at the church Service, the clergyman described the Governor as a man destined by God to change the fortunes of the state, positing that the state is currently witnessing exemplary leadership.
Apostle Achudume informed that Governor Okowa came into power when God wanted him, maintaining that national development should be the focus of those at the helms of affairs.
He submitted that there is hope for Nigeria, adding that the giant of Africa is a nation built by God and blessed by God.
