Ogun Opposition Parties Score Governor Abiodun High On Health, Agriculture, Education

ABEOKUTA - Opposition parties in Ogun State on Monday have commended Governor Dapo Abiodun administration for adding value to the development of the state in the last 33 months.


The parties under the aegis of Conference of Opposition Political Parties (COPP) equally endorsed the Governor for second term.


The Convener of the group, Otunba Femi Sholuade, said the vote of confidence on the governor was necessary following the group's assessment of the ongoing projects in all the 20 local governments of the state.


While pointing some sectors, Sholuade said that Governor Abiodun’s administration has contributed positively to Education, Health and Agricultural sectors among others in the State.


Giving analysis of the Governor’s achievements, the COPP convener said the governor has been able to fill up existing vacancies in the public primary and secondary schools as well as technical colleges in the state through Ogun teach.


He also said the governor has been able to rescue many lives through employment of medical professionals in the health sector.


He added that the administration has in no doubt shown a great desire to make most of the roads in the state motorable across the three Senatorial District.


The roads constructed by Abiodun’s administration according to him include: Atan Lusada road, Elite road, Panseke- Adigbe road, Olomore Sanni road, Obantoko road, Fajo- American Junction- Unity Estate Gbonagun road;


Others were Ijebu Ode- Epe expressway, Imasayi- Ayetoro road, Oke Ola road, Imeko and Owode -Ilaro road, Ilaporu road among others.


His words “the distribution of several tricycle ambulances to rural PHC to reduce maternal and infant mortality has been a major achievement.


“The step to rescue the health sector through employment of medical professionals and improvement on infrastructure is greatly noticeable and appreciate.


“The government has provided inputs and facilitated the crediting of beneficiaries with over N1.5 million in the CBN Anchor Borrowers Programme and the FGN/IFAD/Ogun State Value Chain Development programme, he said.
