Amotekun Commander Assures Ogun Residents Of Safety During Yuletide Celebrations


ABEOKUTA - The Corps Commander, South West Security Network Agency codenamed (Amotekun), Ogun State, CP David Akinremi has assured residents of the gateway state of protection of lives and property during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.


Commander Akinremi in a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday said the Amotekun Corps in the State has put necessary security measures to checkmate activities of would be criminal elements during the yuletide period.


He noted that, following the attendant security issue that may arise from mass movement of people, increased commercial activities amongst others and the likelihood of criminal elements wanting to perpetrate crimes and criminalities, hence, the Corps has embarked on robust patrol of all nooks and crannies of the State.


He added that, the entire public space has been dominated while intelligence gathering have been further strengthened towards ensuring that criminal elements are not given breathing space to feather their nest before, during and after the Christmas and New Year celebration. 


"In order to ensure that all law abiding residents of our great state enjoy unfeterred yuletide Season, the Amotekun Corps in the State has put necessary security measures to checkmate activities of would be criminal elements.


"The purport of our crime fighting mechanism is to take the battle to the doorsteps of all criminal elements who may want to test our will during this period.


"The Corps while assuring all residents in the State of its determination to provide uninterrupted Christmas and New Year Celebration in collaboration with other sister Security agencies enjoins the peace loving and law abiding people of the State to provide us with useful information that will assist us in serving them better."


CP Akinremi, therefore, warned criminals to either have a change of heart and turn away from crime or relocate from the State otherwise they should be ready for the battle to flush them out whenever they may be in any part of the State.
