ABEOKUTA - A lecturer at Chemical Sciences Department of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Dr Abdulrazaq Ogunmoye has emerged as the Waali (head) of the Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC).
Dr Ogunmoye emerged as the 7th Waali on Monday at the 28th National Congress held at TMC Dawah centre, Lagos after the Virtual Islamic Training Programme (VITP) held between 24th and 26th December, 2021.
He took the mantle of leadership from Dr Ibrahim Ogunkoya who steer the leadership of the organisation for eight years.
Dr Ogunkoya who is presently the Head, Business Administration Department at OOU, congratulated the new Waali, calling on members of the Congress in Ogun State to give him full cooperation support.
“Allah has dominion over all things. He gives power to whoever he wishes. May the emergence of Dr Ogunmoye and other executive members of TMC in Ogun State further aid the cause of Allah and humanity.”
“I trust the capacity of the new executive to deliver on the mandate on which they are appointed but the ultimate is our reliance on Allah to put His blessings and empower them to executive this divine task.”
Before his emergence, Dr Ogunmoye was one time PRO, External Affairs Officer of the State TMC and currently the Executive Director of Centre for Global Peace and Initiative (CGPI) at national level of TMC.
Also, Ustadh Abdurahman Oshodi emerged as the New Secretary of TMC in Ogun State.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Ogunmoye said he will build on the legacy of his predecessors to achieve the mission and vision of TMC in Ogun State.
“It is a great responsibility that I alone could not bear. I beseech Allah for His guidance and support of all stakeholders in the TMC family.”
