Damilola told FIJ that Seidu is well known to the police in Ogun because he was the one who helped most of the officers, including Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state’s police spokesperson, get their vehicles.
FIJ also reported on Thursday that, the PPRO again detained Shokunbi Damilola, a man defrauded by Mohammed Seedu, a car dealer in Abeokuta.
When THE ENCOUNTER visited Police Headquarters in Eleweran on Thursday to ascertain whether Damilola was detained as reported by the FIJ, but Damilola was seen in company of his relatives.
While speaking with journalists, Damilola denied accusing PPRO Oyeyemi of conniving with the car dealer, Seidu.
He said the PPRO was never privy to his dealing with the car dealer, but only informed him after five months the car dealer failed to deliver his order.
"On September 8, 2021, Mr Ezekiel Durosimi, a police officer in the PPRO's office, we are church members at that particular time I sold my car Lexus, so he told me that he knows someone that deals with car that can help me get a new one.
"The name of the dealer is Mohammed Seidu also known as Mai kudi. The next day Mr Ezekiel Durosimi sent the car dealer's contact to me then we spoke.
"When I met Mai Kudi, he said we should go to Cotonou together after 3 days. Myself and two other persons went with the dealer to Cotonou then we came back the next day.
"After waiting for some months without any assurance on how to get my cars, in January, 2022 I was forced to go to the PPRO in order to hear from him maybe I have been duped or not. I explained to the PPRO that he (Mai Kudi) does not pick or reply my chat that he has even block my line. The PPRO called him as well, he did not answer the call.
"PPRO does not know when the transaction was going on, but Mr. Ezekiel said that PPRO is aware of it. We were not paraded by the PPRO, we were only behind counter.
"PPRO did not detain me, it was Mr Ezekiel that called me that PPRO wanted to see me. When I got there, the PPRO only said he will detain me because I was trying to tarnish his image.
"The reason PPRO name appear was because anytime we talk to Mai Kudi he do threaten me with PPRO's name."
