Congress: Ogun NNPP Elects Oginni As New Chairman

Oginni giving his acceptance speech shortly after emerging as the party chairman

ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State Chapter of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) has elected new executive members to run the affairs of the party for the next three years.

At the party State Congress held at the party secretariat, Car Wash, Adatan, Abeokuta, Mr. Oginni Olaposi was returned unopposed as the party chairman in the state.

Oginni alongside 34 others were elected as the party officers in the state in an election witnessed by officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies.

Speaking shortly after his emergence, the NNPP Chairman, Oginni Olaposi described the congress as successful, saying it was part of the preparation to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He noted that the party which has remained the third force would spring surprises at the general elections with tsunami of heavyweight political gladiators joining the party soon.

"The congress is successful as you can see, it is part of our preparation to take over Ogun state from APC. We know that in Ogun State the APC and PDP are already in shambles, they are in problem and pains, you can see what happens in their last congresses at Ake and in Stadium. The PDP are not better either.

"Somebody that have been in APC for over the years joining the party to take the ticket and destabilized them, anybody that is serious and have something to give to the Nigeria populace will come to NNPP this is the Arc of Noah and the party that is ready to take over from APC and PDP in Ogun State.

"They have failed to learn from history they have failed to rise because they don't learn from history, so logically NNPP in Ogun State is taking over."

Speaking on the performance of Governor Dapo Abiodun in the last two years, Oginni carpeted the current administration in the state.

He said Governor Abiodun is a clueless man without any blueprint to salvage the economy and insecurity of the state.

"The present government has done nothing. He is clueless, a man that saw the sensibility of the youth and demarket the state. And at the end of the day, Nigerians know who are the yahoo-yahoo governors."
