Yomade Biobaku Foundation Donates Items Worth N6m To Ogun Residents

ABEOKUTA - Respite has come the way of residents of Abeokuta North Local Government Area of Ogun state as a Non-Governmental Organization, Yomade Biobaku (YMB) Foundation has donated items worth N6million to some less privileged individuals in the council area.


The empowerment programme took place at the popular Ori-omi, Sokori Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital.


THE ENCOUNTER NEWS reports that hundreds of excited residents of Abeokuta North State Constituency, divided into four geo-political of Oke-Ona, Gbagura, Owu and Oke-Ogun, came out in large numbers to benefit from the donation and distribution of valuables.


Yomade Biobaku, founder of YMB Political Foundation and Aspirant of APC for 2023 Ogun House of Assembly Seat, stated that valuable things such as grinding Machines, Motorcycles, Sewing Machines, Deep Freezers, among others, were distributed to the beneficiaries, who were drawn from Oke-Ona, Gbagura, Owu and Oke-Ogun.  


Yomade Biobaku, who later spoke with Journalists at the empowerment program attended by Chief Abiola Fohun, Chairman, Ogun Central Senatorial District of APC; Alhaja Fahidah Sarumi Akintunde, APC Chairman, Abeokuta North; High Chief Bode Mustapha, the Osi Egba, among others, expressed joy seeing the smiles on the faces of people who benefited from the donations.


He noted that small businesses would be boosted and level of poverty would be reduced with the provision of valuables that would be used to create employment and wealth.


He said,"I started by giving them money, this time around, I am giving them deep freezers, grinding machines, motorcycles. I believe by doing that, I have helped five people in a family and it's the best joy of my life.The evaluation of all the items is nothing less than N6 million.There will also be a monetary aspect of this.


"I believe if we have one million poverty in the society and with what I have done today, I believe it's now minus. 


"If another person comes and does the same thing, poverty will reduce in our country. As a Muslim, I derive joy in this, there's nothing to gain other than to see my people be very happy." 


Meanwhile, some members of Abeokuta North Local Government, who received some valuables, expressed gratitude to the YMB Foundation for blessing them with the items. 


In his reactions to the philanthropic gesture of YMB Foundation, Mr. Babatunde Wasiu, one of the beneficiaries, expressed his gratitude to the Foundation for its timely intervention.


He however urged YMB Foundation to continue the good work, hoping that more NGOs would toe a similar path to support more vulnerable persons and the less privileged in the Society.
