ABEOKUTA - As part of plans to celebrate the 70th birthday anniversary of former Deputy Governor in Ogun State, Senator Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka next month, a 200-seater hall will be handed over to the management of Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
Kaka who clocks 70 on May 14, 2022 will donate the building in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Idiat Adebisi Kaka.
According to the Chairman of Adegbenga Sefiu Kaka (ASK) 70th Birthday Committee, Dr. Taofiq Salisu on Thursday in a statement made available to newsmen, the 200-seater hall was reportedly built and donated to Abraham Adesanya Polytechnic.
Kaka was a former deputy governor that served during the administration of Olusegun Osoba from 1999 to 2003.
Salisu in the statement noted that the two-day celebration would be marked with "the formal handing over of a 200-seater hall (Alhaja Idiat Adebisi Kaka Auditorium); special Jum’at service prayers, a lecture; ‘Overview of Nigeria’s Power Sector: Past, Present and Future’ and launch of his biography, ‘His Boundless Benevolence All The Way’ on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th May, 2022."
Salisu also noted that the formal opening prayer session and visitation to the less privileged will take place on 13 of May, at the Ijebu-Igbo Central Mosque, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.
He added that the book presentation is slated for the Omo-Ilu Event Centre, Ijebu Igbo, also in the state.
He revealed that the 500-page biography of the deputy governor was authored by Hafiz Bakare and Ishola Adebayo.
The event will also feature a lecture titled " Overview of Nigeria's Power Sector: Past, Present and Future" and to be delivered by Engr. Adebisi Abayomi.
The statement reads partly, "It is a compendium of the Septuagenarians’ history of journey on earth in spite of his major and minor setbacks, trials, uncertainties and remorse."
The special guests at the birthday lecture include Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, MFR, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, the former Governor of Ogun State, and Pa. Ayo Adebanjo, a patriarch and Afenifere leader as well as Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the former Governor of Ogun State.
Other special guests expected at the event which begins at 10:00a.m prompt are Kabiyesi Alayeluwa, Oba (Dr.) S. K. Adetona, CFR, J.P., Awujale & Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland (Royal Father of the Day); Professor (Mrs.) Bola Akeredolu-Ale (Book Reviewer); Senator Akin Odunsi; Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor of Ogun State and Alhaja Salmot Badru, former Deputy Governor of Ogun State.
