INEC Gets New Prototype Office In Ado-Odo Ota

 


ABEOKUTA - The Independent and National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ogun State on Tuesday commissioned the newly constructed prototype office in Ado-Odo Ota local government area of the state.


The INEC's Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Barr. Niyi Ijalaye said the new office was parts of the objectives of the Commission to ensure that members of staff work in a conducive and secured environment devoid of trespasses or breach of security from outsiders in order to ensure optimal productivity.


The REC emphasized that, the completion of the project was a testimony to the commitment of the Commission's investment in building prototype offices nationwide.


He assured people of Ado-Odo Ota that the new edifice will be adequately maintained.


He thanked the Olota of Ota, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege for donating the plot of land to the Commission to build the new office.


"I equally want to thank the leadership of the Commission at the National Headquarters, Abuja most especially the Hon. INEC, Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu for making this edifice possible for commissioning today. Also, I wish to congratulate our staff and people of Ado-Odo/ Ota, I hope that the new office complex will be adequately maintained.


"The commissioning of this building today is an attestation to the fact that sustained collaboration between INEC and the Stakeholders in all areas cannot be overemphasized as it creates synergies that impact positively on the delivery of free, fair, and credible election. 


"I, therefore, solicit for continuous cooperation and support between the Commission and Stakeholders as we prepare towards the forthcoming coming General Elections in 2023.


"Let me seize this opportunity to reiterate INEC's commitment to the goal of making your votes count which implies that if you are here and you still don't have your Permanent Voters Card, please endeavor to use the opportunity of the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration to register and collect your PVC, your vote is your voice and your right."


In his goodwill message, the Olota of Ota, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege expressed happiness for the realization of the new office. 


He assured the Commission of the community's support in ensuring hitch-free general elections in 2023.
