Hon. Biyi Adeleye |
ABEOKUTA - The Special Adviser to the Ogun State governor on Political Affairs, Hon. Biyi Adeleye, has called a governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oladipupo Adebutu, as “sick and unfit” to govern the state.
He admitted that Adebutu comes from a responsible home, but appears suffering from “developmental problem within.”
Adeleye spoke while reacting to Adebutu’s criticism of Governor Dapo Abiodun who accused of embezzlement the state’s fund.
The PDP chieftain in a viral video also accused Abiodun’s government of powering street lights with generating set.
But Adeleye while reacting descended heavily on Adebutu, saying he’s ” a very sick individual who does not have what it takes to govern a state.”
He said “In Remo area, Uncle Ladi is from a very responsible home. The father is a very responsible one, all his siblings are very responsible people.
“Then that kind of thing coming from him shows there can be developmental problem within. He could have been developmentally impaired or there are some mental illness that are affecting him.
"You can imagine somebody who should be rallying delegates for his primaries election, is already doing what somebody will be doing for general election that shows that Uncle Ladi is very sick, he is a very sick individual, he does not have what it takes to govern a state, how can you be calling a sitting governor an 'apa'.
"Uncle Ladi was not thinking about that, he doesn't even know what is going on in Ogun state, the highest is he will come out to say that we are not running to embezzle your money or to do anything, his father has foundations, Ladi should have stayed and managed those foundations and stop worrying himself about governing anybody in Ogun state even at that he cannot do well".
On the allegations of powering street lights with generating set, Adeleye said “That’s very incorrect.Take for instance go to some of this PDP states, you will see similar projects going on powered by generating sets and diesel.
“What we are doing in Ogun state is that we are going to transfer the energy from the generating set to our IPP. If you look at Abeokuta for example,we have already transferred some of them to IPP project.
“They don’t get energy from generating set anymore. So, if we are doing things timely to make sure that these projects are well done, we are using the generating set as a pilot scheme to see the functionality, to see how this is going to work for us and transfer to the IPP.
“Uncle Ladi was not thinking about that. He doesn’t even know what is going on in Ogun State.”
