ABEOKUTA - Controversial hip-hop singer, Portable Okikiola Olalomi has joined other Nigerians to chastise Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state over his perceived betrayal of the APC National leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by supporting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Tinubu had last week Thursday caused public stirs by demeaning the governor calling his (this one), a statement that has generated mixed reactions.
Recall that Governor Abiodun had vowed that the state delegates will vote for his kinsman from the same local government, Mr Osinbajo.
Abiodun said this during Mr Osinbajo’s consultation meeting with delegates in the state, at the Presidential Lodge, Ibara, Abeokuta, the capital of the state.
The governor said the vice president is 'eminently qualified’ to lead the country.
“Your steadfastness, integrity and character are all well known. You are serving this country and the president meritoriously for the last seven years as the vice president.
“We have no doubt that you will do well as the president and we will support you.”
This statement and public endorsement of the Vice President who is also a stooge of Mr. Tinubu might have angered the former Lagos governor.
Tinubu was apparently dissatisfied with Abiodun’s endorsement of Osinbajo.
Speaking in Abeokuta on Thursday, Tinubu took the governor to the cleaners.
“This one (referring to Abiodun) that’s sitting down here, could he have become Governor without me? We were at the stadium, they tore all his posters. Even the party flag, they didn’t want to hand over it to him, I was the one who brought it.
“If he wants to meet God at the right place, he must know that without God and me, he would not have become Governor,” he said.
Portable had in a viral video on Tik Tok posted by an handler, blackman11_11 on Sunday mocked Governor Abiodun for betraying his political godfather who allegedly fought tooth and nail to ensure that the Governor emerged in 2019.
The Zah Zuh master who also reminisce on what has become a popular slang in the political circle of Ogun State "Eleyi" said in Yoruba "Ehn, Ehn, You this one (referring to Gov. Abiodun) so you too can join the crowd. You this one, you betrayed your godfather. You are planning to go to war with someone that died for you yesterday......"
"Iwo Eleyi" by Mr. Tinubu is now the latest slang in town of Abeokuta.
