ABEOKUTA - Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has appreciated the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his undying love and support towards the successful burial ceremony of his late mother, Alhaja Tawakalitu Agboola Oluomo.
Late Oluomo who is Iya Suna of Ifo land died on 19th July, 2022 at the age of 86.
The Speaker, in his appreciation letter also thanked the Conference of Speakers in Nigeria Chief Judge of the State Hon. Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, President, Customary Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Mobolaji Ojo.
Hon. Oluomo said although, the vacuum created by his mother's death cannot be filled, but took solace in the fact that she lived a righteous and fulfilled life.
She described the late mother as one in a million, a devout Muslim, disciplinarian whose love for all transcended her immediate family and community.
"We thank everyone most sincerely for your show of love, solidarity and concern through your esteemed presence at the funeral and the eighth day Fidau as well as your gifts, messages and calls.
"Our appreciation also goes to former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Suraju Ishola Adekunbi, my Colleague-Lawmakers, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi and other members of the State Executive Council, former Head of Service, Mrs. Amope Chokor, former Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Salisu Shuaib, former lawmakers in the State, Local Government Council Chairmen, the Olu of Ifo, Oba Samuel Oladipupo, and the representative of Agura of Gbagura, His Royal Majesty, Oba Saburee Bakre and other important personalities too numerous to list here.
"My family members, our Political Leaders and associates, members of SOSFA, friends in the media, League of Imams and Alfas from Ifo, Christian groups, Anglican Grammar School Old Students Association (AGSOSA) various transport unions (RTEAN, PARK MANAGEMENT, ROTO, AMORAN, ACOMORAN, ROMO, TWORA), Ifo Market men and women as well as other pressure groups are all appreciated for honouring us with their physical presence and through the various condolence messages over the death of our dear mother and Iya Suna of Ifo land, Alhaja Tawakalitu Agboola Oluomo, who passed away on the 19th July, 2022 and her eighth day Fidau held on the 26th July was massively attended by guests across the nation.
"Her exit though, has created a great vacuum but we take solace in the fact that she lived a righteous and fulfilled life. She was a mother in a million, a devout muslim, disciplinarian, whose love for all transcended her immediate family and community. We, therefore, pray to the Almighty God to repose her soul."
