ABEOKUTA - The Alhaji Akeem-Bodunrin Iyeru-led Park Management Services Ltd (PAM), has reacted to the call by the former Deputy speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Dare Kadiri to disband PAM.
PAM's reaction was contained in a release signed by its chairman, Alhaji Iyeru on Friday afternoon.
"PAM is not operating illegally as claimed by Hon. Kadiri. The association is registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the records are there.
"Secondly, the association was constituted in line with the laid down laws of the land and was ratified by Rt. Hon Kunle Oluomo-led Ogun State House of Assembly which Hon. Kadiri is a member. The Ogun State government issued a certificate appointing me as the state chairman of the association. What else could make the association a legal entity?
"Also, Hon. Kadiri's claim that his constituents are suffering is not true. Immediately I came on board, I invited stakeholders of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to a meeting in my office, and we all agreed to work together. We have been working harmoniously since I assumed office.
"I will not allow this personal attack from Hon. Kadiri to distract me. I am fully focused and committed to the task ahead of me. My resolve to contribute my quota to the development of Ogun State under the leadership of our hard working leader, Gov. Dapo Abiodun is unshakable.
"I promised Gov. Abiodun and the people of Ogun State to restore peace to our Parks and garages. I have fulfilled my promises, there is sanity in our parks and garages across Ogun State,"the statement read.
Hon. Kadiri on Thursday described the activities of PAM illegal and asked the government to lift ban placed on NURTW.
Recall that Ogun State government proscribed the activities of NURTW in the state and set up PAM to collect tax from Cars and Buses during NURTW week.
