ABEOKUTA - Organizers of the Dapo Abiodun Cup, a football tournament organized by Abeokuta South All Progressives Congress (APC) in honour of Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun have announced September, 2022 for the kick off of the competition.
This was announced on Friday at the draws held at the Party's Council Secretariat, Abeokuta.
The Draws which were conducted by the technical committee set up to oversee the competition, had in attendance leaders of the Party at the Council including Ward Chairmen, Youth Leaders and Women Leaders, and the Governor's liaison officer in the local government, Kayode Olalekan.
Abeokuta South LGA consists of fifteen Wards which were divided into Constituencies 1 and 2. Constituency 1 has seven Wards while Constituency 2 boasts of eight. In Group A are Ward 3,Ward 5,Ward 7 and Ward 4,Group B has Ward 6,Ward 1 and Ward 2,in Group C are Ward 14,Ward 10,Ward 15 and Ward 13 while Group D consists of Ward 12,Ward 11,Ward 9 and Ward 8
The party Chairman in the local government, Hon. Tunji Fagbenro, while addressing prospective Participants urged all Party members to troop out en-mass to support their teams, he urged them not to take the matches as do or die affairs as the competition is meant to promote healthy rivalry
The tournament kicks off in a fortnight at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.
