Foundation Donates School Uniforms To Ogun Indigent Pupils


ABEOKUTA - A Non-Governmental Organization, Alli Foundation has donated school uniforms for indigents primary school pupils in Awowo Community under Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State.


According to the American-based NGO, the charity event was aimed in focusing to their welfare and encourage the pupils in public schools on the importance of education, and support the parents who could not afford their educational need


The coordinator of the foundation in Nigeria, Ganiyat Agboola while speaking explained that the foundation’s goal was to touch and meet pupils and student needs that their parent cannot afford to give them.


"We found out that in schools, especially the public schools in the remote area, most of the students are in rags. They should be in their good beautiful dresses. They are our children and we don’t want them in rags, so that’s what we told their teachers and we are happy they turn out today in good dresses”, Agboola said


 Agboola assured that the foundation will take the gestures across the state to meet up with the challenged pupils or students, adding that it will also spread across Nigeria.


The traditional ruler of the community, Oba Abdul-Gafar Olasunkanmi Tijani in his remarks expressed appreciation to the organization for always putting the needs of the pupils in the community first in every situation.


The monarch encouraged the foundation not to rest on their oars by providing succor for the needy and profusely thanked  them for complimenting what they have been doing for many years, with a call on other organisations and individuals to emulate the foundation on the good work.


The Alawowo make case for need to equally considered books offer to the pupils in subsequent gestures, adding that, some parents could not as well afford buying books for the pupils, stressing that books provided by government are not sufficient
