ABEOKUTA - It was a fun-filled atmosphere on Friday as the Sports department of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command organized football novelty match in honour of the outgoing Comptroller, Mr. Kolawole Michael Amao.
Amao who resumed to the Ogun State Command in June 8, 2021 has been redeployed to the Service headquarters in Abuja having been promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG) General Service.
The soft-spoken Assistant Comptroller General was recently adjudged as Best Comptroller, Supporting Sports, Zone A.
In the Novelty match played at the 5-Aside pitch of the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, Team Amao defeated Team Immigration 5 - 3 on penalty shootout after 2-2 stalemate at full time.
Speaking shortly after presentation of medals and trophy, the outgoing Comptroller commended the staff and officers of the state command for their dedication, commitment and due diligence to their work.
Amao urged them to extend the love and respect to the incoming Comptroller for smooth operation of the command.
He thanked the sports department for organizing a befitting send-off party.
He said, "You have honoured me today, God will also honour you. What you have is a hidden treasure for you to venture into. This is Karma. Karma is sowing and reaping. You will not be put to shame"
He, however, approved the registration fee of the Command team in the forthcoming SWAN/Security and Safety Cup.
