ABEOKUTA - Ahead of Saturday's presidential election, Coalition of Political Parties in Ogun State (COPPIOS) on Thursday thrown its support for the re-election of All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Muhammadu Buhari at the poll.
Spokesperson of the coalition in the state, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi who addressed journalists in Abeokuta on Thursday explained that returning President Buhari for his second term would balance power among other geo-political zones of the counttry.
Arabambi noted that, the call for Buhari's re-election was justice and equity, stressing that, if the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar emerges as President, it would enlogate power to the north for another 12years.
According to him, by the time President Buhari complete his second term in office in 2023, power will shift to the Western zone of the country.
He therefore enjoined Nigerians to vote peacefully and for President Buhari to sustain the ongoing transformation agenda of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
"We members of the coalition of political parties in Ogun state in support of President Buhari Second term have come together this evening to urge Nigerians to vote for the continuity of President Buhari in office.
"Our decision is not base on our selfish agenda, but our reason is base on justice and peace.
"We want equity, peace and justice among the six geo-political zones and we believe if Atiku emerges, it will retain power to the north for another 12years, but if Buhari should continue till 2023, it will return power to the west.
"We therefore urged Nigerians to vote peacefully devoid of any crisis and we hereby declare our support for Buhari second term in office".
Notable among the political parties at the endorsement include, APC, ANN, UPN, SDP, PPA, YDP, Labour, AD and others.
