ABEOKUTA - The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo has described a former Majority Leader, who represented Sagamu I State Constituency in the 7th and 8th Legislature, Hon. Yinka Mafe as a supportive and democratic-oriented legislator, who demonstrated exceptional virtues during his lifetime.
Oluomo in company of his colleague-lawmakers and the Ag. Clerk of the Assembly, Deji Adeyemo stated this in an interview shortly after a condolence visit to the family of the deceased lawmaker at his countryhome in Emuren, Sagamu.
The Speaker, who recalled the contributions of the late lawmaker during his two-term tenure, which spanned eight years, said Mafe would always be remembered for being energetic and vast in his contributions to developmental issues in the Hallowed Chambers of the State Assembly.
He added that the late lawmaker was always lending his voice in support of other members in spite age and political differences towards the passage of bill and motions centered on the delivery of democratic dividends.
Appreciating a life well spent, Oluomo lauded his smartness and free-mind of the lawmaker in his relationship with other lawmakers in achieving outstanding performance in his duty as representative of the grass-roots.
The Speaker who later signed a condolence register, prayed that almighty God grant the family of the deceased and political associates the fortitude to bear his sudden exit.
Similarly, the Ogun State Labour Party Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has described Hon. Mafe as a "very powerful parliamentarian, vibrant and erudite."
Arabambi in his condolence message, said death of the late lawmaker was shocking and remained a mirage as someone who celebrated his birthday in the morning through the afternoon and was confirmed death in the evening.
The LP Chairman prayed God grant him eternal rest and give the family fortitude to bear the loss.
