ABEOKUTA - The Ogun State chapter of Labour Party has appealed to Nigerians especially residents of the state to comply with government directives on the stay at home order.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Sunday in a live broadcast ordered for immediate lockdown and restriction of movement in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states to curtail the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease.
Labour Party in a WhatsApp press statement E-signed by its Acting Chairman, Wale Ogunsi urged the people to see the government directives as a life saving sacrifice, not discomfort.
"My good people of Ogun state, it is no more news to everyone of us that Nigeria and the rest of the whole world is in a terrible state being caused by corona virus pandemic also known as covid-19.
"I want to appeal to all people of Ogun state and indeed Nigerians to pls Cooperate with the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR. Governor of Ogun state and President Muhammad Buhari President of the federal republic of Nigeria in their efforts against the spreading of this deadly virus.
"As we all know, Nigeria borders have been closed to curtail the influx of external visitors. Ogun state like some other states in Nigeria have introduced series of measures as advised by WHO and the health experts part of which are 'Stay at home Order' and Restriction of movement in some parts of the state. My great people, please I don't want you to see this moves by the government as an act of discomfort instead, accept it as a life saving sacrifice.
"Ogun LP pray that the Almighty God will continue to shower his Ultimate protection over us and sees us through this corona time savely."
