ABEOKUTA - The National Legal Adviser of Labour Party, Barr. Akingbade Oyelekan has dismissed claims that Comrade Abayomi Arabambi has been removed as the party's chairman in the state.
Akingbade in a telephone interview with THE ENCOUNTER NEWS, maintained that those parading themselves as acting executives of the party in the state are riff-raff and nonetity whose identity are questionable.
THE ENCOUNTER NEWS reports that, the party chairman in Abeokuta North local government, Alhaji Oladele Oyeleke on Friday claimed to have suspended Arabambi from the party following a vote of no confidence passed on him by local government executives.
Alhaji Oyeleke added that, the party had equally appointed Chief Wale Ogunsi as the party's acting Chairman in the state.
But the national legal adviser noted that, the those parading themselves as the local government exco lacked moral and legal standing to remove Arabambi as the party chairman in the state.
"My name is Barr. Akingbade Oyelekan, I am the national legal adviser of Labour Party in Nigeria and I am telling you authoritatively that Comrade Abayomi Arabambi is still the Chairman of our party in Ogun state.
"Those who are parading themselves as the acting executives are riff-raff and impostors who have no locus standi to remove the Chairman. Removal of any state Chairman is procedural. The NEC which is the highest authority of our party must sit on the impeachment notice and ratify it. More over they are alien to our party as we don't know them
"There must be an offence committed by such state Chairman before he/she can be removed. You cannot remove a Chairman base on non existing issues or because you don't like his face. The Chairman was duly elected through a congress not at a beer parlour joint.
"As such, he can only be removed by the congress or disciplinary committee of our party. Tell me, where did they have such authority to remove him? Which NEC ratified their kangaroo suspension notice on Arabambi's?.
"My brother, I am still the national legal adviser of the party, and to the best of my knowledge I have not receive any notification from the NEC of Labour Party that Arabambi has been removed. Please, tell them to produce the copy of the National Secretariat approval on the purported suspension of Arabambi.
"We cannot continue to progress in error and we will never allow any gansterism to hijack the structure of the party in Ogun state because of their greedy."

Labour party is a dumping ground with useless people whose political stories have been soiled. Comrade Bode Simeon have already destroyed the party when he single handedly picked Oginni Olaposi and Abayomi OlufemiArabambi as party secretary and party financial secretary without any congress. Since then the party in Ogun state haven't know any peace till date. That is why you should think of the consequences of your action before you embark on it. Good people,defender of the party principle, ideologies and practice have left the party bcs of nasty characters that are still in Ogun labour party. May God deliver you guys.
