COVID-19: Adebutu Distributes 40 Cows, 472 Pigs In Ogun LGAs

ABEOKUTA - A former member, House of Representatives, Hon. Ladi Adebutu has distributed relief materials worth N50million Naira through his Ladi Adebutu Development Organisation as plan to assist ogun State indigenes to stay alive during the imminent lockdown in the state. 

In a release signed by the organisation’s Media Consultant, Mr Afolabi Orekoya said that the former lawmaker decided to make the offer having considered the effects the lockdown will have on the people oweing to the fact that most people live on daily proceeds from their businesses. 

According to the release, it states that “realising the rigour the lockdown might cause, Hon. Ladi Adebutu has immediately committed over ₦50m (Fifty Million Naira) on food items covering live cows, pigs, Garri and other items”.

"The relief package which has started moving round to all the wards across the state will be distributed in the following order” the statement reads.

Items to be distributed includes, Cow for each of the 20 Local Governments per week for two period totalling 40 cows, 1 pig for each of the 236 wards in Ogun State per week for two weeks, totalling 472 pigs.

Others includes 500 (3kg) packs of Garri per Local Government per week for two weeks and 10,000 sanitizers across the 20 Local Government areas. 

Mr Afolabi said that the gesture by Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu is planned to complement the N100m donated to Ogun State Government by the Adebutu family earlier in the week and ultimately to support the good people of Ogun State during the lockdown period.

He therefore appealed the people in the State to follow strictly all health tips and advices, keep clean environment, Stay at home and stay safe during this period
