ABEOKUTA - The Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government Area of Ogun state, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for the distribution of stimulus package to the people of the local government area during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The Chairman gave the commendation during an interview with pressmen, while monitoring the distribution of relief items to people in the eleven wards across the council area.
Olugbile thanked the Governor for being sensitive to the plight of the people, as shown in the extension of the commencement date of the lockdown pronounced by President Muhammad Buhari as well as the relax of the lockdown on some selected days.
Engr. Olugbile however urged the people to be patient as the package is expected to get to those who were not captured in the first batch of the ongoing distribution.
While speaking also, the Member representing Ijebu Ode State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Kemi Oduwole appreciated the Governor for his responsiveness, describing the stay at home order as one that was well-planned and properly coordinated.
Similarly, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, Ogun State, TPL Yetunde Dina gave kudos to the state government for being sensitive disposition to the needy and the vulnerable, particularly the aged.
While stressing that coronavirus is real, she hinted that the State Ministry of Environment would fumigate major places in the town, such as markets, palaces, and places of worship.
Places visited by the Chairman and the monitoring team, include Isado, Ipamuren, Olode, Porogun, and Imepe.
