Simeon To Arabambi: Stop Parading Yourself As Ogun LP Chairman

ABEOKUTA - The Southwest National Chairman, Labour Party, Comrade Bode Simeon has warned Mr. Abayomi Arabambi to refrain from parading himself as the Chairman of the party in Ogun state. 

Simeon said Arabambi remain suspended by the party organ from the local government for anti-party activities and maladministration. 

He stated this at a press conference held in Abeokuta on Friday.

It would be recalled that, the party exco in Abeokuta North local government had last week said it has removed Abayomi Arabambi as its chairman for gross misconduct. 

But the southwest chairman explained that the local government and the caretaker committee have notified the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all security agencies in the state.

He posited that, the zonal executive have ratified Arabambi's suspension from the party and has since ceased to be the party chairman in the state, stressing that he would be arrested if he continue to parade himself as the party chairman. 

He affirmed that Prince Wale Ogunsi as the Caretaker chairman of the party in the state.

"Gentlemen of the press, I want to react to the statement credited to the National legal adviser of our party in person of Barr. Akingbade Oyelekan. Immediately I read the media report, I personally called Barr. Akingbade and he reported to me that he didn't know what is going on in Ogun state here, I now told him that Abayomi Arabambi has been suspended from his ward and the LG and the report has been sent to my table. 

"I'm the pioneer Chairman of LP here in Ogun State and I'm now the south west chairman and everything is on my table and I have the power and authority to ratify what is on my table here as the south west chairman.

"Yes, if you look into our party constitution vividly, the ward chairman has power and authority to suspend any national officer and Arabambi has been suspended sometimes from his state executive, so now the zone and the LG chairmen have suspended him according to the constitution of our party."

Speaking on why Arabambi was suspended, Simeon said "they Arabambi has been participating in a lot of anti party activities and maladministration of the party and he has no party exco with him, he had been parading himself as a one man show and there is nothing like that in our party. 

"We have a party executives which Arabambi has nobody with him, he is the only one parading himself as a party executive using party name here and there to abuse, and do all sort of things that is not welcome in our party, so a lot of atrocities committed by Arabambi are not welcome by the party. 

"Immediately the suspension was served, a letter will go to INEC, the Director of DSS and to the Commissioner of Police and all the security agencies that Arabambi should stop parading himself and nobody should deal with Arabambi, he is on his own risk, he is no longer in the party, he has been suspended longtime."
