LAGOS – Northern Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has advised President Muhamnadu Buhari to get rid of non-performing people in his government for progress to be achieved in the nation, stressing that for the security of the people, he must relieve the Service Chiefs of their appointments.
It said this in a press statement made available to journalists on Thursday by Comrade Isah Abubakar, president of the youth group, to commemorate the Democracy Day, maintaining that even some ministers need to be reshuffled.
Whileadvising thePresident, the group stated that, the All Progressives Congress (APC) leader must take responsibility for leadership in the country.
“Buhari must learn to hire, fire and take his covenant with the Nigerian people seriously. Security tops his agenda when he campaigned in 2015.
“It’s very unfortunate that those saddled with the responsibility to protect the lives and properties of the citizens can no longer be held to the provisions of the 1999 Constitution and as a matter of urgency Nigerians must find ways to protect themselves,” he said.
Abubakar stressed that the government of President Buhari had witnessed and supervised over the killing of thousands of Nigerians than any other government in the history of the country.
“President Buhari can still make a change if he adheres to good advice by doing the needful. It is time the service chiefs go” he said.
