Showunmi Toasts Ogun PDP Members, Promises N2m For LG With Highest Votes, N.5m For PUs

ABEOKUTA - A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun state, Otunba Segun Showunmi has pledged the sum of Two Million Naira to any local government with highest votes for the forthcoming Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Showunmi equally said the sum of five hundred thousand naira (N500,000) would be given to any Polling Units with the highest votes in the state.

He disclosed this on Wednesday at a workshop held in Abeokuta to sensitize party agents and mobilizers for the February 25 Presidential election.

According to him, the move was to mobilize more votes and intensify efforts for the victory of PDP Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Showunmi noted that APC has told enough lies to Nigerians to deserve the people's votes and return to power.

He said if ruling party has the magic wand to revive the economy, they ought to have done that before the election.

He urged party members and Nigerians especially Yoruba electorates not to be cajoled with tribal sentiment.

He said "The first election is so critical to us and that is why I called for this meeting and workshop to educate ourselves on what to do on the Election Day. Vote for PDP for the Presidential election come February 25. Don't vote for PDP because of Atiku Abubakar, don't vote for PDP because of Segun Showunmi, vote for PDP for the future of your children.

"The story APC has told us is enough. Go and out with your PVC and vote them out. If they have any magic, they should have resolved that before now. Look at the fuel scarcity, we have never had it this bad. We have never had fuel scarcity for five months like this. 

"Do not allow anybody to deceive you that someone is cheating Yoruba people. Nobody is cheating us".
